Left 4 Dead 2 is nearing release and I for one can hardly wait. The first one was a damn near perfect simulation of being tossed headfirst into a zombie movie. And I'm not talking the slow moving been there done that Romero zombies movies, I'm talking full tilt run for your damn life zombie movies.
I had a few gripes with the first one but it looks like they're being handled in the sequel. The weapon variety was a little scarce with only a small handful guns at your disposal. On top of new firearms, they're also adding melee weapons which adds a whole new level of craziness to the gameplay. I'm hearing that melee weapons include a katana and chainsaw among other things. Thank god there is a chainsaw, there should be a clause somewhere that states every zombie game needs to have a chainsaw at your disposal. Let's see, what else. A few new zombie types and cool new environments such as a carnival and a bayou level.
I kind of just skimmed over the top in my preview here but I'll certainly do a full review when I play through the entire game.
