Nintendo placed a gag order on their lead content designer, creator of the wii fit, Shigeru Miyamoto, prohibiting him from discussing his private activities and hobbies with the public. Their reasoning - too many of his ideas have turned into billion dollar games, and they do not want someone to tread on that.
Personally I think it's a little paranoid, clearly the man makes the ideas. There are millions of people who weigh themselves everyday and none of them had the resources or ingenuity to create the wii fit. I guess it all boils down to the fact that giant corporations have to be paranoyed especially when you are cornering the market with unique innovations every day.
