GTA 4 has officially hit the markets, and the hype and buzz surrounding the game is through the roof. You have parent groups outraged over the release of the game, and millions of gamers buying the new installment in flocks. With midnight openings all over the country, the whole scene is reminiscent of the Halo 3 craze. Its nice to finally have the long awaited next gen GTA.
I have not played the game, but from what I have read, this game is revolutionary in just about every aspect. The game has been getting perfect tens across the board from all sorts of gaming magazines, and websites. On gamerankings.com they have the new GTA listed as the single best reviewed game of all time right in front of the N64 classic Zelda Ocarina of Time. Out of 20 total reviews from various gaming websites, the overall average is 99% out of 100%. This is unheard of as far as games go.
From what I have read the game has an Oscar caliber story, with terrific writing and voice acting. Around 30 hours of the single player story, with 90 plus missions. The environments are extremely detailed and leave the player feeling as if they are really walking around in a living, breathing modern day city. The multiplayer aspect is also getting a lot of praise, with people calling it a great addition to the game.
I'm picking up my copy later on this evening, and absolutely cannot wait to play it. It looks as if Rockstar has achieved a new milestone in gaming excellence. Bravo fellas.
