Super Paper Mario

... is stupendous. I have been working my way through the Paper Mario series starting with Paper Mario 64, moving on to the Thousand Year Door, then Super Mario RPG (the original of the series developed by square), and finally moving on to play the most recent version for the wii Super Paper Mario. All of these games were very playable, and have great storylines. After playing the original for the SNES, which had excellent graphics for the time, it was nice to move back to "cotton candy graphics" as i like to call it. Big bright seamless graphics that make you feel like you're inside the ol' tube.

This version is a side scroller, different from the other three which were designed as RPG's. I don't have as big a problem with it as I anticipated, but I still prefer the original fight style. Maybe it's because I suck at jumping. the clincher for this game is the ability to move from a 2-d view into a 3-d view. It really enhances the puzzle aspect of this game, which is what i love about the series to begin with. I'm big into puzzles, not so much into jumping. It's definitely taking it's toll on my psyche though I've been dreaming in 2-d, and flipping into 3-d. This could be a sign that I need to get more fresh air.
