The female gamer is a rare commodity in the world of gaming these days. Its kind of like spotting big foot. You've heard stories, but have never actually seen one yourself. As kids, girls played dress up and dolls, while guys played with video games and action figures. The only difference is that a lot of us guys never grew out of the video game phase. I was thinking it's a shame there aren't more hardcore female gamers, because it would probably do the community a lot of good.
So any ways my friend tells me about this video game clan called the Frag Dolls. Apparently they are a group of hardcore female gamers who are sponsored by Ubisoft. Not to be sexist or anything, but when I heard about these gals I expected a bunch of overweight, nerdy looking ladies. Wow, I could not have been any more wrong, these girls are gorgeous and could probably whip my behind in Halo three ways to Sunday. So I was definitely psyched to see some avid pro female gamers. I mean the fact that they weren't hard on the eyes didn't hurt either.
I hope these girls encourage a lot of other females to at least give gaming a try, because I don't see why gaming should be dominated primarily by males. I really don't see why the opposite sex couldn't enjoy video games as much as we do. It would be a nice change of pace to kick some tail along side some ladies.

Supposedly there is a group called something like "girlfriends against video games" or something like that. Too funny.
I've met lots of women that play MMO's and they aren't all bad looking.
I've had a former or not so former porn star in the EQ guild I was running. Once that was discovered they faded out. I didn't meet them so I can't confirm it, it may have been a hoax heh.
Ya never know with these interwebs these days.
Anyhow yeah, as gaming continues to transform from Asteroids into Final Fantasy and Guitar Hero, wider audiences are becoming interested.
I think it is kinda weak that the group of girls gets sponsorship simply for being female gamers. Wow, how novel. I wonder if they feel exploited?
Takes all kinds. I think the stereotype that women don't play video games is really a thing of the past. I mean I'm a chick and I play games.
