Up until now I haven't really had the urge to purchase a Wii because I have been more than content with my xbox, however, ther are a few games right around that the corner that are looking to sway my decision. You have Metroid Prime 3, a new Smash Bros. game, and a new Mario game. It's good to see that Nintedo is starting to make more games to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. In my opinion the reason the PS3 has perfromed so poorly sales wise, is because the majority of their titles are just ports of 360 games.

Honestly there aren't all that many games for the Wii either in my opinion.
Even the Virtual Console is kinda dry with only a handful of titles I am interested in. I mean I liked lots of the games, like "Elevator Action" (that title always cracked me up, sorta like "Stand in Line" or "Count Sand") I liked to play but I can't say I'm ready to plunk down even $5 for that one.
I remember Funcoland selling NES games for 89 cents, $1.29 etc. That's more reasonable to me heh.
The only thing going for them is that the NES system was possibly the worst design in the history of the video game industry so no one wants to screw around with it and who could blame them?
Sadly I think my scowling at these games is mainly because I played the crap out of them when they came out. Maybe the younger generations that never had to blow on their NES games, rub them with alcohol, put them in the freezer and then stick two games in the system at once just to get a game to work correctly only to have someone put a drink on the table next to the system when you are twelve hours into "Final Fantasy" and have the vibration cause the system to reset sending a shock to the game's internal memory battery and losing all saved data.
Maybe .... they didn't go through all that!
The XBox 360 has the RED RING OF DEATH, aka unrecoverable hardware failure, worse than a little dust in the cartridge, or having to stick another cartridge on top of the one already in there. :-)
Though the unrecoverable hardware failure is not necessarily unrecoverable. A friend of mine had the red ring of death, so he wrapped his Xbox in a blanket, plugged it in for 20 minutes, then unplugged it and it worked again. Go figure.
