I recently downloaded and tried playing Nexuiz on my Everex laptop. Although the game is fairly outdated by todays standards I still had trouble getting it to run smoothly. The graphics were glitchey and the frame rate was poor. I think this is because my machine isn't really a computer built for games.
I haven't played pc games in years, it seems that nowadays you have to dump a fortune on special graphics cards and other things of that nature to get the newer games to function properly. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much it would cost to get a good gaming pc? I'm curious to see how the price compares to game consoles like the 360 and PS3.

I think you can get a decent gaming pc on the cheap - that laptop is light on the video card, but most pc graphics these days should handle nexuiz ok. Some of the more recent games though, I'm not sure.
